Meet Pastor Stan
Born in Illinois and raised in Arkansas, Pastor Stan began his preaching ministry at the age of 16. After 11 years of youth ministry, evangelism, and academics he came to Nashville in 1995 where he served as an Assistant Pastor at Christ Church for 7 years.
In 2003, after a year-long sabbatical, Pastor Stan, along with his wife Nancy and a small group of friends, began meeting to discuss the possibility of planting a new church. GracePointe Church was launched in August of that same year.
Stan Jr. (age 8) and Nina Kay (born August 2005) make for an interesting and fun time around the Mitchell house. Pastor Stan is an avid golfer, weight lifter, and reader. His favorite authors, to name a few, are Frederick Buechner, Henri Nouwen, Tony Campolo and Brian McLaren.
A perpetual student, Pastor Stan will be entering a graduate program for Counseling Psychology in the fall, as well as his 24th year in ministry.
